Pickens Plan comes to Stillwater

It’s not unusual for Boone Pickens to be in Stillwater – but Thursday his visit was about America’s energy future and not football. Oklahoma State University benefactor and national energy leader, T. Boone Pickens, conducted a Pickens Plan town hall meeting on the nation’s movement towards a new energy future.
Pickens stressed the single biggest crisis facing America today is without question our ever-growing dependence on foreign oil from hostile nations. He says our energy habits continue to put the economy and security in danger. He told the audience of nearly 5,000 people that recent developments in the Middle East with Iran once again underscore the grave risk our country faces if we do not move to address this issue.
Pickens sees positive movement in Washington D.C. to reverse decades of inaction with smart initiatives to use American-produced energy sources such as natural gas, wind and solar to power our economy.
